In 1972, Patricia Fischer (then 17) and her high school friend took $900 in startup money and founded their first store. The daughter of local merchants, Patti had retail in her blood. After spending a few years in Metairie and Mid-City painting ceramic plaques, the company moved to St. Louis Street in the French Quarter. In this new location, they expanded their offerings and began selling souvenirs, t-shirts, and sports memorabilia. Not long after, Patti moved to the current location on Royal Street and founded what we now know as Fischer-Gambino. Laurie Little joined up with Patti in 1999 and they now operate two locations on Royal Street. The original location at 637 Royal Street offers a classic traditional selection with a touch of modern. The new store at 215 Royal Street is a more casual atmosphere. Offering everything from gaming tables to today’s latest trends.
Fischer-Gambino is one of the premier lighting and furniture stores in the Southeast and a must-see for locals and tourists alike.
